Thunderwolves cruise to 75-3 win over Skyhawks

PUEBLO, Colo. – After a 21-point opening quarter for the Thunderwolves, the Fort Lewis College football team was unable to recover, falling 75-3 to Colorado State University Pueblo in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) game on a gusty Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Skyhawks to 0-4 overall this season and 0-3 in the RMAC while the Thunderwolves advance to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the RMAC.

"We did not quit today," Fort Lewis College Head Coach Johnny Cox said. "We did not do a great job of executing, but the guys really stayed together this afternoon. I think that aspect of today will really help us have a focused mind as we move on to prepare for next week. CSU Pueblo is a great team, and we simply did not execute the way we needed to."

CSU Pueblo had a dominant game on offense. The Pack put up 537 yards of total offense by way of 315 yards on the ground and 222 yards through the air. Fort Lewis picked up 157 yards of total offense, most notably through 140 passing yards.

AJ Skaggs saw the field for the first time this season and threw an interception on his lone attempt.

Thunderwolves starting quarterback Hunter Raquet completed just five of his ten passing attempts (50%) for 154 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Raquet secured 29 yards on four attempts and two additional touchdowns.

Kiahn Martinez was The Pack's leading rusher as he picked up 85 yards and one touchdown on 11 attempts. Pierr Medjeber, Austin Bacher, and Steven Croell each added rushing touchdowns as well.

Hunter Villavicencio kept Fort Lewis from being shutout, nailing a 45-yard field goal near the end of the second quarter for the lone score of the game.

Jayden Helms, Khalil Ali, and Carter Cameron each had six tackles leading the FLC defense. Isaiah Pittman led The Pack with seven tackles that included 1.5 tackles for a three-yard loss.

Penalties plagued the Skyhawks once again as Fort Lewis committed ten penalties for 112 total yards.
