DURANGO, Colo. – Led by top-three finishes from sophomore Cebastian Marquez and senior Angel Curley, the Skyhawks men's and women's cross country teams competed in the annual Tom Standt Memorial/4-Corners Classic as Hillcrest Golf Course—the eventual site of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in November.  

The men's team finished first in the 8k, coming in ahead of fellow RMAC foe Westminster College, with an average time of 29:00. The women's team came in second place behind Westminster, averaging a time of 24:33 in the 5k.

Men's Results
Marquez was the Skyhawks' leading runner on a beautiful day on the rim, placing second with a time of 27:54. Sophomore Chalen Lozano and freshman Elijah Smith crossed the line just behind Marquez, clocking times of 28:22 and 29:05, respectively.

The Skyhawks had two additional runner finish top 10 in freshman Caleb Salcido (6^th, 29:24) and junior Aaron Busche (10^th, 30:17). Winning the 8k was Noah Peterson, a freshman from Westminster College with a time of 27:47. Sophomore Alex Colby and senior Wacey Begay rounded out finishers for the Skyhawks at 11^th and 14^th place.

Women's Results
Junior Carmella Wright was hot on Curley's heels throughout the race and was rewarded with a fourth-place finish at 24:12. The team had four additional runners finish top-10 in the home meet. Senior Esther Beck led that pack with a time of 24:35 to place sixth. Freshmen Sophia Mena (24:53) and Peyton Burnside (25:06) came in eighth and ninth, followed by sophomore Brandy Ray 's 10^th place effort (25:11).
