Football inks 35 on national signing day for 2024

2/7/2024 1:00:00 PM

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College Head Football Coach Johnny Cox is excited to announce the signing of 35 student-athletes to the Skyhawks football program for the fall of 2024 including three mid-year transfers who are already on campus and preparing for the spring.

"This is our third recruiting class as a staff and we're extremely excited about the group we have coming in," Cox shared. "We had a goal this off-season to get bigger and faster, standards that played a large role in how we made evaluations throughout the year, and we believe we've accomplished that goal. We have an especially large class coming in on the defensive side of the ball and we're looking forward to seeing how that group of guys meshes and competes in the fall."

Fort Lewis football graduated nine seniors at the end of the last season and has since retained nearly its entire roster. The Skyhawks have already topped last season's freshman singing day class of 28.

FLC has added five offensive linemen, three quarterbacks, and six skill position players between the wide receiver and running back positions. On the defensive side, FLC has bolstered the trenches with 13 defensive linemen while also adding three linebackers and five defensive backs. Of the 35 total recruits, 19 are Colorado natives with eight coming from Arizona, three from California, two from down the road in New Mexico, two more from Hawaii, and another from Utah.

Following is a list of all 35 student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent or aid agreements with the Skyhawks football program and Fort Lewis College. All signees are contingent upon admission to FLC and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Student-athletes are listed in alphabetic order by last name.
