Skyhawks cap fall campaign at NCAA West Region Preview

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis women's golf team ended the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule Tuesday afternoon at the Pueblo Country Club, shooting a 325 (+41) to earn a team score of 647 (+79) and a 19th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Preview.
 
The Skyhawks dropped just three additional strokes in the final round, carding a combined four birdies, to hold off Western New Mexico University (649, +81) and Vanguard University (667, +99). Colorado Mesa University managed to edge FLC by four strokes with a 643 (+75).
 
No. 3 nationally ranked Dallas Baptist University cruised to team medalist honors, winning the tournament by an astounding 26 strokes, edging second-place California State University Los Angeles 584 (+16) to 610 (+42). Colorado State University Pueblo, the tournament host playing on its par-71 home course, earned the highest finish among Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs in third place with a 612 (+44).
 
It was the Patriots' own Madison Ude, who trailed by three strokes heading into the final round, who fired off a one-under 70 to win the tournament by two strokes on an even par (142) for her second individual medalist honor of the season.
 
Senior Dimery Plewe was the only Skyhawk inside of the top 50, with the Cortez, Colo., native taking a tie for 38th on the strength of a 156 (+14) and a team-high six birdies across both rounds. Freshman Kathryn Moores was the second-closest, carding a 164 (+22) to tie for 79th.
 
Rounding out Fort Lewis were Peyton Gibby in a tie for 83rd on a 165 (+23), Sarah Grenemyer in a tie for 89th on a 166 (+24), and Isabel Bustillos in 101st with a 172 (+30).
 
See You in the Spring
With the fall portion of the 2025-26 season now in the books, Fort Lewis will look to practice throughout the next few months before returning to action on Feb. 23-24 over in Alameda, Calif., at the Corica Park Golf Course for the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by California State University East Bay.
