Volleyball suffers loss to Adams State to begin pod play

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Skyhawks volleyball suffered a road loss on Friday night, falling in four sets to Adams State University to begin their regional pod weekend.

Fort Lewis fell to 9-2 overall and remains 3-1 in conference play while Adams State improved to 6-9 on the year with a 1-3 record in the league.

The Skyhawks were limited to hitting just .157 for the match compared to a .255 clip for the Cougars. Adams State held the advantage in digs (60-58), blocks (8-4), and aces (11-7).

Senior Ella Butler led the team with 13 kills while hitting .360 and contributing three aces. Freshman Cambria Freymuth also chipped in 13 kills, followed by five players with three kills each. Freshman Ariana Reyna recorded 18 assists, followed by sophomore Addie Garn with 13. Freshman Alyx Daugherty led the way with 18 digs while dishing out six assists.

Fort Lewis (9-2, 3-1 RMAC) continues its road trip with a 7:00 PM first serve against New Mexico Highlands tomorrow in Las Vegas, N.M.
