DURANGO, Colo. – Recognized for their on-court contributions as well as success in the classroom, Fort Lewis men's basketball's Jaxon Smith and Massal Diouf have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Teams, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Apr. 14.

Diouf captures Academic All-District® honors after wrapping up his collegiate career with the Skyhawks. A native of Gouda, Netherlands, Diouf started in 28 of his 29 games played for Fort Lewis as the go-to man in the post. Shooting a team-best 55.6 percent for the season among regular players, Diouf scored 207 points, hauled in 121 rebounds, and blocked a team-high 23 shots. In the classroom, Diouf carried a 3.92 Grade Point Average (GPA) while studying Health Sciences.

Smith was named to the Academic All-District® Teams in his first year of eligibility after a strong redshirt sophomore campaign. The 2025-26 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honorable Mention guard finished second on the roster with 424 points scored on 36.6 percent shooting, and a dangerous 37.3 percent clip from the three-point line, where he knocked down 76 treys. Smith was also the best free-throw shooter in NCAA Division II by percentage, hitting at 94 percent with 110 made free throws on the season. Off the court, Smith boasted a 3.94 GPA studying Business Administration.
