4/20/2026 4:00:00 PM

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Fort Lewis men's and women's golf teams battled high winds in the late afternoon on Monday at the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golf Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club, and the Skyhawks men fired a 286 (-2) to maintain its second place position while the Skyhawks women posted a 312 (+24) to climb into fifth place heading into Tuesday's final round.

The Skyhawks women, despite dropping an extra seven strokes in round two, likely due to the challenging late afternoon winds, reeled off a 312 (+24), adding to their first-round 305 (+17) to jump up into sole possession of fifth place at 617 (+41) overall. FLC chases fourth-place Colorado Mesa University (599, +23) by 18 strokes, and Westminster University and Colorado Christian University, with sit T-2 on a pair of 594s (+18), by 23 strokes. No. 28-ranked Colorado State University Pueblo maintained its first-place positioning, leading the field by 12 strokes at 582 (+6) overall.

The individual leaderboard has thinned out at the top after the five-way deadlock through round one, as WU's Ashley Lam and CCU's Raya Shulz head into the final round tied at 143 (-1) overall as the only women's golfers to shoot under par. Peyton Gibby is the closest Skyhawk to the podium, as the sophomore turned in a 75 (+3) to move into T-10, and six strokes back from the leaders, at 149 (+5) overall. Gibby matched her first-round effort with another three birdies.

Dimery Plewe paces another trio of Skyhawks inside of the top 25, taking a T-19 position into tomorrow's final round after back-to-back 77s (+5) have the senior at 154 (+10) overall. Ellie White and Isabel Bustillos sit three strokes back of Plewe's heels in T-25, both carrying a 157 (+13) total. Annika Gutierrez trails the group in T-42 on a 165 (+21), and Kathryn Moores rounds out the squad in T-45 with a 167 (+23) on the scorecard. As a unit, the Skyhawks have racked up 107 pars and 24 birdies against 85 bogeys or worse.

Traejan Andrews stayed hot for the Fort Lewis men, as the redshirt junior put up another five birdies to shoot a three-under-par 69 and sit in T-2 with a 138 (-6) overall, four strokes back from No. 50 Colorado School of Mines' Liam Allan, who stands with a 134 (-10) total.

With Allan in front, the Orediggers continue to lead the tournament as a team, boasting a 557 (-19) total. Fort Lewis sits a narrow five strokes back at 562 (-14), thanks to a second-round 286 (-2). No. 22 Colorado Mesa University sits two strokes back in third place at 564 (-12) overall, and No. 13 Colorado State University Pueblo in fourth with a 569 (-7) total.

Four other Skyhawks found themselves inside the top 25, including a pair joining Andrews inside the top 10, following the second round, thanks to a combined 44 birdies and 127 pars as a team against 44 bogeys or worse. Freshman Chase Rogers has made quite an impression in his first conference championships, matching senior Jake Chesler at 141 (-3) overall to reside in T-8 entering tomorrow. Jordan Jennings chases the duo in T-13 with a two-under 142, and Ian Henderson in T-23, shooting a three-over 147.
