Stueve named head coach of Skyhawks men's golf

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College Athletics is thrilled to announce the removal of the interim tag, officially naming Randy Stueve as the head coach of the Skyhawks men's golf team.

Stueve, named the program's interim head coach back in March after previously assisting both the men's and women's golf programs as a volunteer mental performance coach, held the Skyhawks in second place and contention for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship last spring before unplayable conditions and an abbreviated final round brought the event to an abrupt finish.

"Last year's team created a culture of hard work, competitiveness, and resilience that made an impression on the men returning to the program this fall," said Stueve. "I look forward to blending the new talent we have coming in with the team and further cultivating that culture. I want these young men to grow from their experience while also enjoying every moment of their time together at Fort Lewis."

Following the regular season, Stueve then helped Traejan Andrews make an individual appearance at the NCAA West South Central Regional, where the Colorado native shot a 215 (-1) over three rounds to finish T-10 and narrowly miss a spot in the national championships.

Before transitioning to golf, Stueve was an amateur triathlete, quickly rising through the rankings with three appearances at the Ironman World Championships. He later earned his Level 1 Certification from USA Triathlon.

Skyhawks men's golf is set to begin the 2026-27 season at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15, at The Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyo.
