Outdoor track wraps up regular-season at Last Chance Meet

AZUSA, Calif. – The Skyhawks outdoor track teams sent several student-athletes to California over the weekend with the goal of improving times to earn a spot at the national championships.

Senior Hannah Hartwell headlined the group with another school record performance, this one in the 5000m where she placed third with a time of 16:19.09. Hartwell improved her national ranking with the performance, now sitting eighth in NCAA DII ahead of the selection show.

Senior Alliyah Molina turned in a sixth-place race in the 10000m with her time of 35:55.40—sitting in 52nd in DII. On the men's side, senior Brady Burrough competed in the 1500m and 800m. He placed 31st in the 1500m (3:48.62) and 39th in the 800m (1:52.00). Burrough is 30th in the country in the 800m. Sophomore Armando Fuentes also raced in the 1500m and 800m where he placed 102nd and 46th, respectively. Finally, sophomore Cooper Filmore competed in the 3000m steeple, placing 18th with a time of 9:20.34.

The Skyhawks will await the release of the NCAA Division II Championship field, scheduled for Tuesday, with the championships beginning on May 21st on the campus of Emporia State University.
