STOCKTON, Calif. – Redshirt junior Traejan Andrews improved at the NCAA West South-Central Regional on Friday evening, shooting a one-under-par 71 around The Reserve at Spanos Park to climb into T-23 heading into tomorrow's final round in Stockton, Calif.

Scores from across the 7,082-yard, par-72 course slightly improved in round two, with the championship-style links course playing to an average score of 73.30, just down from yesterday's average score of 73.49.

The No. 122-ranked redshirt junior was tripped up on the front nine, scoring bogeys on holes three, five, and eight, but managed to limit the damage by dropping a pair of birdies on the 182-yard par-three hole four and 410-yard par-four hole nine, heading out with another 37 (+1).

On the back nine, Andrews birdied three of his first five holes, including the 519-yard par-five hole 11, 433-yard par-four hole 12, and 460-yard par-four hole 14, but a double-bogey on hole 13 kept him at level par once more through 32 holes. Down the final stretch, he birdied the 535-yard par-five hole 16, and managed three pars to finish with a 71 (-1), bringing his total for the tournament to 143 (-1), good to sit in T-23 entering tomorrow's final round.

Round two saw a shake-up on the team leaderboard as No. 26-ranked Western Washington University fired a 282 (-6), but No. 19 West Texas A&M University came roaring up with a 281 (-7), moving into a tie for first with a pair of 565s (-11). As for individuals, Western Washington's Conrad Brown, ranked No. 52 nationally as an individual, went off for a single-bogey 66 (-6) to capture the lead by one stroke at 136 (-8) overall.
