Skyhawks begin RMAC play with 3-0 shutout of Cougars

Fort Lewis keeps second clean sheet of 2026

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Simão Agostinho opened the match with an early penalty goal, Fabrizio Aguilera opened the second-half scoring with a glancing header, and William Bretvik put the match on ice moments later to power the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Colorado Christian University in its 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener Friday morning at Trailblazer Stadium
 
The Skyhawks climb up to 4-2-2 overall and 1-0 against RMAC opponents while the Cougars fall to 1-4-4 overall and 0-1 in league play, despite outshooting FLC 17-to-13 and taking six corner kicks to Fort Lewis' one. Fred Reiter, making his season debut with Fort Lewis, earned his first clean sheet in a Skyhawks uniform and his sixth overall.
 
Johan N'Ganzadi created the early opportunity in the 32nd minute, streaking past his defender into the left side of the box where he was tripped to earn the penalty kick. Agostinho stepped up and converted his third penalty goal of the year and RMAC-leading sixth of the season.
 
Shortly into the second half in the 58th minute, N'Ganzadi found himself outpacing his defender yet again down the far touchline before sending service to the penalty line, where an awaiting Aguilera fronted his defender before redirecting the ball into the back post for his third score of the campaign. N'Ganzadi earned his first collegiate assist and point.
 
Soon after, Raul Baptista Filipe dispossessed a Cougar defender inside the attacking third to make a short service pass to a streaking Agostinho, who, with one touch inside the penalty box, sent service towards the penalty line where Bretvik punched in the final goal beneath the diving keeper for his fourth score of the campaign.
 
Notes
-Fort Lewis won its second straight match over Colorado Christian to advance its all-time lead to 54-6-4 overall and 27-3-3 in Lakewood, Colo.
-The Skyhawks start RMAC play 1-0 for the second consecutive year.
-Simão Agostinho converted on his fourth penalty kick attempt of the year, following a miss in his last attempt against No. 21-ranked Colorado State University Pueblo (Sept. 20), and now leads the RMAC and ties the third-most penalty goals in Division II.
-Simão Agostinho lifted his season goal total to six and his assist total to two, moving back into the RMAC lead in goals (six), shots (29), shots on-goal (16), and points (14). He is also tied for the ninth-most assists (two).
-William Bretvik is now tied for the fifth-most goals (four), fifth-most shots on-goal (10), and sixth-most points (9).
-Raul Baptista Filipe added his third assist of the season, and fourth of his career, adding to his two goals for seven points this year. 
-Fabrizio Aguilera scored his third goal of the season, and 14th of his career, and sits third on the roster in goals (three) and points (seven).
-Fred Reiter earned the clean sheet in his Fort Lewis debut and first match back since the 2024 season at Montana State University Billings. It's the sixth of his career.
-Johan N'Ganzadi earned his first collegiate assist and point.

Fort Lewis will face Metropolitan State University of Denver (3-1-3, 0-0 RMAC) this Sunday, Sept. 27, at 12 p.m. The Roadrunners recently received votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Coaches' poll and will face Adams State University (1-4-1, 0-0 RMAC) tonight at 6 p.m. at home.
