Biography

2024-25 (Redshirt Freshman)
Penney hit the ground running as a redshirt freshman, playing in 24 games for the Skyhawks and making his first and only collegiate start against Northern New Mexico (Nov. 16)... totaled 136 minutes on the hardwood (5.7 mins/game)... had a career-game against South Dakota Mines (Jan. 16), setting career-highs in minutes (17), field goals made (4), field goal attempts (6), three-point field goals made (2), three-point field goal attempts (3), and steals (2)... scored a career-high 11 points against Adams State (Feb. 4) on the back of a career-high nine made free throws through ten attempts... also hauled in a career-best six rebounds against the Grizzlies... totaled 30 points (1.3 pts/game), 21 rebounds (0.9 rebs/game), six steals, and five assists... shot 46.7 percent (7-15) from the field, 44.4 percent (4-9) from the three-point line, and 85.7 percent (12-14) at the free throw line.

Prior to FLC: Came to Fort Lewis as a two-year letter winner in basketball and football at Spanish Springs High School... owned a 41-15 record across his two varsity seasons with the basketball team... earned Second Team All-Region as a junior... named the 5A All-North Co-Player of the Year as a senior... First Team All-Region as a wide receiver and defensive back his junior year... First Team All-State honors as a defensive back his senior year... named the Athlete of the Year. 

Personal: Born April 6, 2005...son of Kyle and Katie Penney... has two siblings, Jake - a member of the Fort Lewis football team - and Jaden... enjoys playing golf and socializing with friends outside of basketball... intends on majoring in Business Administration at FLC.
