Colton Walker

Colton Walker has joined the Skyhawks women's basketball team as an assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Walker joins the Skyhawks after three years as a club coach with Arizona Elite. He coached the 16U and 17U teams on the Girls’ Under Armour Association (GUAA) circuit with squads that finished 3rd (2022) and 4th (2022) in the nation. He was simultaneously the varsity head coach for the girls basketball team at Gilbert High School, a position that he held since 2020. During his tenure, the team was 77-33 and qualified for state playoffs in four-consecutive seasons. Walker coached multiple All-Region selections, a region Player of the Year, All-State honorees, and a Gatorade Player of the Year nominee. In 2021, he was named the Region Coach of the Year.

Walker is a familiar face on the collegiate side of the game as well, having been on staff at Benedictine University at Mesa (NAIA) and West Virginia University (NCAA DI) throughout his career. He got his feet wet at West Virginia where he was the team’s manager while he completed his undergraduate degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. In 2020 he joined the staff as an assistant coach at Benedictine where he was the head of player development and assisted in recruiting.

Walker was raised in Mesa, Arizona, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Liberty University.
