Kylie Lorenzen will begin her first season as women's basketball assistant coach in 2022-23.
Lorenzen was a standout athlete for Southern New Hampshire University (NCAA DII) from 2015-19, compiling 1798 points (15.9 PPG) and 932 rebounds (8.2 RPG)--both of which rank first all-time in program history. The forward was a three-time WBCA All-American Honorable Mention honoree to go along with a trio of All-Northeast 10 Conference accolades. In addition to her prowess on the hardwood, Lorenzen was an all-conference member of the women's track and field team where she competed in events such as the 100, 200, 400, long jump, and relays.Â
Following her prolific collegiate career, Lorenzen took her talents overseas to compete in the ATHLETICS British Universities and Colleges Sports basketball league. She shared an undefeated season with teammates from eight countries while obtaining her master's degree.Â
Lorenzen made the move to Colorado in May 2021 after obtaining a role as an ecological and vegetation monitoring crew member in Dolores. In her position, she is responsible for monitoring vegetation and soils using the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Terrestrial Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM) methodology. Among many other responsibilities, Lorenzen and a crew of three members identify variables of vegetation species, height, cover, and composition using line-point intercept and gap measurements, soil stability, land observations and characteristics, soil pit textures, colors, and structure within all allotted plots using GPS coordinates.
Lorenzen, a native of Holliston, Massachusetts, earned a B.S. in Environmental Science with minors in Biology and World Languages and Culture from Southern New Hampshire University in 2019. She went on to complete her M.S. in Environmental Monitoring, Modeling and Reconstruction from Northumbria University in 2020.Â
