2011-12 RMAC All-Academic men's golf team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fort Lewis College golfers
Nick Ellis and
Ronnie Toplyn were named to the
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Eric Danner announced today.
“It's good to have guys who have high grade point averages and excel in the classroom set an example for our younger players,” said Skyhawk men's golf coach Bud Andersen.
Ellis is a sophomore from Millennium High School in Litchfield Park, Ariz. He carries a 3.88 grade point average in Business Administration. A year ago, he received the D2 Athletic Directors Association/WeatherPORT Academic Achievement Award.
Toplyn is a redshirt freshman from Poudre High School and Bellvue, Colo. He carries a 3.90 grade point average in Business Administration-Management.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. RMAC sports information directors selected the first and second teams.
All totaled, 36 FLC student-athletes received academic all-conference awards thus far in the 2011-12 academic year. The Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association will announce its academic all-conference squad later this month.
