Alexander, Schaul Lead Men’s Soccer to 1-0 Win Over Regis

Men's Soccer defeat Regis, 1-0

Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Jordan Alexander netted his second game-winning goal of the season Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 win at home against Regis University.
 
The win improves the Skyhawks record to 8-5-1 overall and 5-5-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The loss was only the Rangers second of the season as they move to 8-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the league.
 
Alexander ended a 56 minute scoreless drought for both teams when he took a pass from Luke Lawrence and put the ball in the lower left corner of the goal from six yards out.  The goal, which proved to be the game-winner, was his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
 
Lawrence led both teams with a game high seven shots and a game high three shots on goal.
 
Fort Lewis dominated the shots in the first half, out-shooting Regis 14-3.  The Rangers took advantage in the second half when Fort Lewis went down one man, and out-shot FLC 10-6.
 
Goalkeeper Ryan Schaul posted six saves between the posts for his fourth shutout of the season.
 
The Skyhawks will remain at home this Friday, Oct. 25, and will play host to Colorado Mesa at 3:30 p.m.
