Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. –
Tamino Kroeger netted four goals in a 7-0 win Sunday afternoon at Colorado Christian. The win sealed the Skyhawks fifth seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament.
Kroeger netted the game-winning goal just five minutes into the game at 5:15. He tapped the goal in after a rebound from the keeper's save. One minute later he scored his second goal of the game off a defender's deflections.
Maik Brandt made the score 3-0 off of a penalty kick at 31:48.
Eleven seconds into the second half,
Trevor Gibbons beat the keeper to his left and scored into the bottom corner. Senior Casey recorded assists on the next three goals by
Luke Lawrence at 49:18, and the last two goals by Kroeger at 68:08 and 75:59.
Kroeger becomes only the third player in school history to score four goals in a game. Cole Sweetser (Oct. 9, 2005 vs. West Texas A&M) and
John Cunliffe (at Colorado Christian, Oct. 24, 2004) also accomplished the feat.
With a 10-7-1 overall record and a 7-7 league record, the Skyhawks earned 21 points and are the fifth seed in the conference tournament. The Skyhawks will play the fourth seed on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The completed RMAC tournament bracket will be announced tonight by the league office.
