Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Junior Alberto Capdepon (Almoradi, Spain/I.E.S. Vicent Andres Estelles) found the back of the net off of Brandon Dooley's assist to net the game-winning goal in the 49th minute to give the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team a 1-0 lead.
Dooley flicked the ball to Capdepon who then fired the ball from 18 yards out on center frame that broke a 0-0 tie. In the 72
nd minute,
Zac Lawrence (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva) added an insurance goal to seal the 2-0 win (assist by
Jordan Alexander).
Playing in his first game of the season between the posts, junior
Ryan Pakieser (Lakewood, Colo./D'Evelyn/Fort Hays State) played all 90 minutes to notch a 1-0-0 record.
The Skyhawks out shot Colorado Christian, 27-2. Fort Lewis held the Cougars without a shot in the first half, and posted 19 shots in the second half. Eleven of the Skyhawks 27 shots landed on frame.
Fort Lewis will play Adams State on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in a make-up game. Both teams faced each other last Wednesday but the game was weathered out in the 62 minute.
