Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second time in as many games, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team lost a game in overtime. The Skyhawks lost a 3-2 decision in overtime at UC-Colorado Springs Friday night. On Wednesday, Fort Lewis fell at home to Adams State, 1-0.
Both teams alternated goals, with UCCS striking first. Jr Calhoun scored an unassisted goal in the 36
th minute to give the Mountain Lions a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Tamino Kroeger tied the game in the 50
th minute, his second goal of the season. UCCS quickly regained the lead less than three minutes later when James Roberts found the back of the net on a breakaway run.
With less than four minutes left in regulation,
Zac Lawrence tied the game for Fort Lewis when he beat the keeper in the upper right corner from the top box. Lawrence's goal sent the game to overtime. Roberts posted his second goal of the night for UC-Colorado Springs on a header at 98:39, giving UCCS the 3-2 win.
The Mountain Lions outshot Fort Lewis 22-15 (13-7 shots on goal).
Ryan Pakieser made 10 saves in 98 minutes of action.
The loss puts Fort Lewis at 4-2-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Skyhawks will play at Regis University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
