Yannis Becker (Stittensen, Germany/Gymnasium Obervleland) scored three goals Sunday afternoon in a 3-3 tied at St. Edward's University. The tie moves the Fort Lewis College men's soccer program to a 1-0-1 overall record, while SEU moves to 0-1-1.
"Becker has started the season off well," said head coach
Oige Kennedy. "It was hard coming off the game at Midwestern State Friday night. That game made it a tough turnaround. I'm proud of the guys for getting back in the game. They kept fighting to the end."

Jordan Alexander (Cambridgeshire, England/Soham Village) found Becker on a cross at 63:08 to give the Skyhawks a 2-1 edge. Fourteen minutes later SEU tied the game again, this time on a penalty kick. Fort Lewis was out-shot by St. Edward's, 25-14 (10-8 shots on goal). SEU also held the advantage on corner kicks, 13-1. Sophomore
Ryan Schaul (Frisco, Texas/Lakeland HS) notched seven saves in 110 minutes of action.
The Skyhawks will open their home season this Thursday against the University of Mary at 3:30 p.m.
