Jessica Singleton netted her second game-winning goal of the season Sunday afternoon to lead the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
"This was a tough game today," said Fort Lewis College head women's soccer coach
Jimmy Hall. "It's the magic number three for us. We have to score three or three fouls to get one goal. There was a huge swing at the end of the game and the girls keep grinding to change it back and win. I'm very proud of their mental strength."
Singleton's goal came in the 81
st minute after
Carolyn Archer made a cross pass to Singleton in front of the goal.
Fort Lewis notched 11 shots against the ThunderWolves, five of which landed on goal.
Junior Caityln Espinosa faced 13 shots and stopped all five on goal to improve to 5-4-4 this season.
Fort Lewis (5-4-5, 4-2-4 RMAC) will play at MSU Denver on Oct. 24 before returning home Oct. 26 to play host to University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
