DURANGO, Colo. – November 18, 2014 – Four Fort Lewis College men's basketball student-athletes scored in double figures Tuesday night at Whalen Gymnasium to lead the Skyhawks to a 105-92 win over Northern New Mexico. The win improves the Skyhawks to 3-0 on the year and marks their second straight game of scoring at least 100 points.
The Eagles led by as many as seven points in the first half, out-scoring the Skyhawks 16-9 in the first four minutes of the game, but the Skyhawks would end the half on a 9-2 run to take a 47-40 lead at halftime. The Skyhawks led by as many as 21 points with under two minutes left in regulation.
Senior center
Alex Herrera, who was recognized before he game for breaking the all-time block record set by Rich Hillyer (208), led all scorers with 29 points. Herrera netted 10-of-15 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws. Herrera's 12 rebounds also marked his third straight double-double to start the year. He added seven blocks on the night to increase his career block total to 223.
Kofi Josephs came off the bench to score 21 points after netting 6-of-9 field goals. All nine field goal attempts came from long range. He also sank 3-of-4 free throws.

Will Morse contributed 15 points, five assists and seven rebounds and
Rasmus Bach added 12 points, four assists and five caroms.
The Skyhawks netted 55.7 percent from the floor (34-of-61) and 41.4 percent from long range (12-of-29).
Four Eagles tallied at least 11 points or more. Gabe Martinez led NNMC with 19 points, 15 of which came from three-point land.
The Skyhawks dominated play in the paint, out-scoring NNMC, 38-20. The Eagles bench out-scored FLC's, 43-36 and the Eagles scored 23 points off of the Skyhawks 20 turnovers. FLC netted 13 points off of NNMC's 13 turnovers.
Fort Lewis will play host to Eastern New Mexico University Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., following the Skyhawks women's basketball home opener against Northern New Mexico College at 5:30 p.m.
