DURANGO, Colo. – November 20, 2014 – A 12-0 run to start their fourth game of the season led to a 104-72 win for the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team Thursday night at Whalen Gymnasium. The Skyhawks defeated Eastern New Mexico University to improve to 4-0 on the year.
The 104 points marked the third straight game the Skyhawks have scored at least 100 points. It also marked the third time in school history FLC has poured in 100 points in three straight games (1995-96, 1990-91).
Six of the 11 Skyhawks that saw action tonight scored at least 10 points.
Alex Herrera led all scorers with 21 points. He made 7-of-10 field goals and 7-of-11 free throws to go with his 11 rebounds, seven blocked shots and two steals. This is the fourth straight game this season Herrera has recorded a double-double.
Rasmus Bach made 8-of-12 field goals and 1-of-2 free throws for 17 points.
Cade Kloster added 14 points after making 4-of-8 field goals, 2-of-6 three-pointers and 4-of-5 free throws.
Lucas Archuleta came off the bench to go 6-for-6 from the floor.
Kofi Josephs also came off the bench to score 13 points and
Will Morse added 10.
Morse, Bach, Kloster and Archuleta each dished out five assists to account for 20 of the Skyhawks 24 assists.
The Skyhawks shot a season high 61.5 percent from the floor (40-of-65). They forced ENMU to shoot 33.3 percent from the floor (28-of-84) and 6-of-10 from the free throw line.
Fort Lewis doubled ENMU with points in the paint, out-scoring the Greyhounds 40-20.
The Skyhawks led by as many as 34 points and never trailed in the game.
Fort Lewis will play MidAmerica Nazarene University on Nov. 28 and UC-San Diego on Nov. 29. Both games will tip-off at 5 p.m. and will be played at Lockridge Arena on the campus of Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.
