Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at #15 CSM

GOLDEN, Colo. – November 2, 2014 – A misdirected cross pass in the backfield by Fort Lewis College led to an own goal at No. 15 Colorado School of Mines Sunday afternoon, resulting in a 1-0 setback for the Skyhawks women's soccer team.

"We had a little confusion in the backfield," said Fort Lewis College head women's' soccer coach Jimmy Hall.  "We played so well but it's disappointing to score on ourselves."

The loss moves the Skyhawks to 6-7-5 overall and 5-5-4 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The win clinched the RMAC regular season title for the Orediggers as they finish the regular season 14-1-3 (11-1-2 RMAC).

The lone goal of the game came at 67:38.

Colorado Mines notched 13 shots against the Skyhawks five.  Caitlyn Espinosa made two saves in goal after leaving the game with eight minutes remaining.  Kodie Johnson finished the last eight minutes in goal.

The Skyhawks are the fifth seed in the RMAC Tournament and will play at New Mexico Highlands Wednesday at 5 p.m.
