Patriots Hand Women's Soccer an OT Setback

Box Score DALLAS – Sept. 13, 2014 – Dallas Baptist University's Ashley Cox scored her second goal of the season just one minute 47 seconds into the first overtime period to hand the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team their second straight loss.  The Skyhawks, playing in their second overtime game in three contests, fell 1-0 to the Patriots.
 
The Skyhawks close out the non-conference portion of their regular season schedule with a 1-2-1 record.
 
"We played tough today against Dallas Baptist," said Fort Lewis College head women's soccer coach Jimmy Hall.  "We played our best match to date.  We gained experience and strength today.  I'm proud of their performance and we will win most games with that attitude."
 
The Skyhawks were outshot by the Patriots, 21-9.  Caitlyn Espinosa stopped six of DBU's shots on goal.  Shayla Malecki, Jessica Singleton and Ana Moran each recorded a shot on goal against DBU.
 
Fort Lewis will open the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season on Friday at Regis University.  They will stay on the road for Sunday's match at New Mexico Highlands.
