2014 Skyhawks Men's Soccer Game Day Notes - Sept. 23, 2014Fort Lewis will return home to Dirks Field after being on the road for four straight games. The Skyhawks will face University of Colorado Colorado Springs (2-2-1, 1-1-0 RMAC) on Friday at 3 p.m. and #12 Regis University on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
The Mountain Lions are coming off a 3-0 win at home against Colorado Mesa. James Roberts has a team leading seven points (three goals, one assist).
Peter Vogrin and David Meyer split time between the posts for UCCS. Vogrin has played the majority of minutes and has a 0-2-1 record. He has stopped 14 shots on goal and allowed six goals.
Fort Lewis has won 39 times against UCCS, lost seven times and tied twice. The Skyhawks are 19-4-1 on their home turf against the Mountain Lions.
Twelfth-ranked Regis University has out-scored their opponents 7-4, despite being out-shot 68-51. Martin Maybin has recorded 11 points for the Rangers, 10 of which have come from five goals. Maybin has scored five of RU's six goals.
Connor Adkisson and Christian Nicolsi have each played 180 minutes in goal. Adkisson is 1-0-0 with 13 saves, two goals allowed and a 1.00 goals against average. Nicolosi is 2-1-0 with 11 saves, two goals allowed and a 1.00 goals against average.
The Skyhawks hold a 32-14-5 series advantage over Regis and are 20-4-1 when playing the Rangers at home.
Fort Lewis recorded their first shutout of the season Wednesday afternoon at Adams State University, 2-0. The shutout was also the first of the season for junior goalkeeper
Ryan Schaul who made two saves between the posts.
The win improves the Skyhawks record to 9-1-0 all-time against the Grizzlies, and 5-0-0 when playing at ASU.
The Skyhawks nearly had a second straight shutout on Sunday when they defeated Colorado Christian on the road, 2-1. CCU scored with less than four minutes left in regulation to erase the Skyhawks clean slate.
FLC is 41-7 all-time against the Cougars and 21-2-2 when playing at CCU.
