DURANGO, Colo. – January 23, 2015 – Senior center
Alex Herrera made a career high 20 free throws on a career high 26 attempts to lead the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team to a 13 point win over Colorado Christian University in Whalen Gymnasium Friday night, 92-79.
Herrera finished with a game high 32 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Rasmus Bach recorded 19 points after making 5-of-8 field goals, 2-of-3 three point field goals, and 7-of-9 free throws.
Cade Kloster chipped in 13 points, three rebounds, and
Jared Smith and
Will Morse recorded 10 points and dished out three assists.
Austin Haldorson, who made his first start of the season, tallied seven rebounds, a game high four assists, three points, and blocked two shots.
The Skyhawks outrebounded Colorado Christian 39-30 and outscored them 22-11 on second chance points. The Skyhawks made 38-of-49 free throws off of CCU's 34 fouls. For the game FLC made 22-of-47 field goals and 10-of-22 three point field goals.
Wayne McCullough led the Cougars with 22 points.
Fort Lewis will face Colorado School of Mines Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Whalen Gymnasium.
