Dickerson Scores 22 Points in Skyhawks 44-Point Win

COLORADO SPRINGS – November 27, 2015 – Sophomore Dallas Dickerson netted 22 points to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team to an 88-44 neutral site win over St. Martin's University Friday afternoon from Colorado Springs, Colo.

"We took away a couple things they liked to do," said head coach Jason Flores.  "It was good defensively for us to follow the game plan and take them out of what they wanted to.  Offensively we followed our plan which made it a pretty easy flow of the game for us offensively."

The win improves the Skyhawks to 4-1 overall as they close out their non-conference schedule.

Dickerson made the first basket of the game to give FLC a 3-0 lead that would eventually turn into a 12-2 run.  The Skyhawks outscored the Saints every quarter, including an 18-4 margin in the second quarter.  FLC's largest lead of the game, 83-48 (45 points), came with 2:40 left in regulation.

Dickerson made 6 of 13 field goals from the floor and all seven free throw attempts for 22 points.  Nine of her points came from behind the three-point line.  Mary Rambo followed with nine points, six rebounds and two blocked shots in 12 minutes of action.  Sydni Brandon came off the bench to dish out a game high four assists and grab a game high seven steals.  She also chipped in six points.

The Skyhawks outscored St. Martin's in the paint, 32-10, from the bench, 38-10, from second chance points, 15-7, and off of turnovers, 28-2.

Fort Lewis was solid from the floor, netting 29 of 65 attempts (44.6 percent), and from the free throw line, hitting on 24 of 29 (82.8 percent).  FLC held the Saints to a 25.9 field goal shooting percentage and only 21.4 percent from long range.

The Skyhawks will play their first game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season next Saturday at Adams State University.  Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
