Fort Lewis Rolls Past Evangel, 93-65

GOLDEN, Colo. – November 28, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team used a 9-0 run to start the game Saturday night against Evangel University as the Skyhawks rolled to a 93-65 neutral site win from Golden, Colo.  The Skyhawks wrap up their non-conference portion of the season undefeated at 5-0.

"We played much better tonight," said head coach Bob Pietrack.  "We played Fort Lewis basketball.  We moved the ball well and guarded with urgency.  We were happy with our effort considering last night we thought we were a touch flat.  We look forward for getting ready for next week and getting ready for conference play."

All 13 Skyhawks scored at least one point, including 43 points from the bench, compared to EU's 18 bench points. Senior guard Cade Kloster led both teams with 17 points. Kloster made four three-point field goals as part of his 17 points.  Joshua Blaylock made 5 of 8 from the floor and both free throw attempts for 13 points to go with his three assists.  Kofi Josephs came off the bench to net 12 points, nine of which came from long range.  Austin Haldorson added 10 points, seven rebounds two assists and two steals. All nine of Will Morse's points came from behind the arc as he dished out a game high five assists.

The Skyhawks shot 45.6 percent (31 of 68) from the floor and 44.4 percent from three-point range (16 of 36).

Fort Lewis edged Evangel in rebounds, 43-40, and dished out twice as many assists, 22-11, while forcing EU to commit 19 turnovers.  The Skyhawks took advantage of EU's turnovers, scoring 29 points off of turnovers.

FLC will play at University of Colorado on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in an exhibition game before they open the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season at Adams State University next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
