BOULDER, Colo. – December 2, 2015 – Hot shooting in the first half had the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team trailing University of Colorado by only two points at halftime, 44-46. The Buffaloes came out in the second half to outscore the Skyhawks 49-27 and earn the win, 95-71, Wednesday night at Coors Events Center in Boulder. The game counts as an exhibition game for the Skyhawks but counts toward the Buffaloes overall record as they win their sixth straight game to improve to 6-1 overall.
Joshua Blaylock led the Skyhawks with 13 points. Blaylock made 5 of 11 field goals and dished out two assists. All 11 of
Kofi Josephs points came in the first half as he made 4 of 12 from the floor.
Austin Haldorson netted nine points on 4 of 5 field goals and all nine of
Cade Kloster's points came from three point range where he sank 3 of 6.
FLC shot 54.8 percent from the floor and 53.8 percent from long range in the first half. They cooled off in the second half to finish the game with a 44.3 shooting percentage (27 of 61) from the floor and 42.3 percent from three-point range (11 of 26).
The Skyhawks were out-rebounded by CU by 22 boards, 45-23. The Buffs out-scored FLC in the paint, 46-28 and on second chance points, 26-5, but FLC's bench out-scored CU, 25-24.
Fort Lewis will open the conference season this Saturday at Adams State University. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
