Quick HitsFort Lewis played their first two games away from Whalen Gymnasium this past weekend when they travelled to Golden, Colo. to face Haskell Indian Nations and Evangel University. Â
FLC won Friday night, 78-64, to take a 3-0 series lead over Haskell Indian Nations. Â Saturday's 93-65 win over Evangel marks the first time the two programs had face each other.
The Skyhawks 5-0 start is the fifth time in school history they have started a season 5-0. Â FLC's best start to the season was 6-0 in 1977-78 under then head coach Chuck Walker.
Four Skyhawks are averaging double digits in scoring:
Rasmus Bach (18.0),
Will Morse (14.4),
Cade Kloster (15.0) and
Joshua Blaylock (12.2).
On Wednesday, the Skyhawks will travel to Boulder, Colo. to face the University of Colorado Buffaloes. Â The game will count as an exhibition game for the Skyhawks, but will count toward the Buffs record.
CU enters Wednesday's game 5-1 overall. After losing their first game of the season to Iowa State, the Buffs have gone on a five game winning streak.
Fort Lewis will travel to Adams State University on Saturday for their first game of the conference season. Â ASU is 1-4 to start the season. Â Their first win came this past weekend against Carroll College (NAIA).
FLC leads the RMAC in assists per game (18.8), scoring margin (16.0), turnover margin (2.4), and win/loss percentage (100.0). Â
Rasmus Bach leads the league in field goal shooting percentage (61.0), steals per game (2.4), and total steals (12).
