PUEBLO, Colo. – Cold shooting and an 11-point fourth quarter deficit resulted in a 68-54 setback Friday night for the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team at Colorado State University-Pueblo. The loss evens the Skyhawks Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record to 2-2 and 6-3 overall. The Pack improve to 4-0 in league games and 9-1 in the RMAC.
"We were stagnant on offense and defense tonight," said head coach
Jason Flores. "We were defending OK but we weren't defending personnel the way we should have. They got into a rhythm and the momentum playing at home definitely helped them. We didn't' give the effort that we needed to play a good team on the road."
FLC outscored the Pack in the first half, 26-25, but the ThunderWolves came out at halftime to outscore the Skyhawks by 15, 43-28.
The Skyhawks finished the game making 27.5 percent from the floor (19-69) but 31 percent from three-point range (9-29).
Astrea Reed, who buried a three-pointer near half court to beat the first half buzzer, led the Skyhawks with 15 points and four assists.
Kylie Santos added 12 and
Dallas Dickerson came off the bench to net 11 points.
Mary Rambo pulled down a team high eight rebounds to go with her three points, two assists and blocked shot.
The Pack's Tuileisu Anderson led all scorers with 21 points.
