Rebounds, Free Throws Pave the Way for Skyhawks Road Win

PUEBLO, Colo. – December 18, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team out-rebounded Colorado State University-Pueblo by 12, 40-28, as the Skyhawks won their third straight game and first road game.
 
The Skyhawks were solid from the free throw line, making 28 of 34, 17 more than CSU-Pueblo (11 of 20).
 
"It was a great program win to bounce back and defeat them on the road after they had got us in the last two meetings," said head coach Bob Pietrack.  "We had seniors step up and come off the bench.  It's a great effort by our whole team."
 
FLC improves to 8-1 on the year and 3-1 in league games.  CSUP moves to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC.
 
Senior Kody Salcido came off the bench to grab a game high nine rebounds.  He added five points and three assists.  Senior Kofi Josephs came off the bench and was one of four Skyhawks to score in double digits.  Josephs made 4 of 6 field goals and 6 of 7 from the free throw line as part of his 15 points. 
 
Joshua Blaylock and Rasmus Bach each netted a game high 20 points.  Blaylock made 5 of 9 field goals including 4 of 7 from long range while holding the Pack's Chris Golden to three points, 16 points under his season average.  Bach chipped in 6 of 11 field goals and made all eight free throw attempts.  Also scoring in double digits was Will Morse who came off the bench to make four three-point field goals.  He also added six rebounds and three assists.
 
The Skyhawks held the ThunderWolves, who lead the league with 83.1 points per game, to seven points under their season average.
 
FLC finished the night making 24 of 54 field goals (44.4 percent), 11 of 27 three-point field goals (40.7 percent) and  28 of 34 free throws (82.4 percent).
 
The Skyhawks will tip off at 7 p.m. Saturday night at Western State Colorado University.
