GUNNISON, Colo. – February 27, 2015 – Western State Colorado University scored 81 percent of their points from three-point range (45 points) and the free throw line (24 points) to hand the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team an 89-85 loss. With the setback, FLC moves to 19-8 overall and 14-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Mountaineers improve to 5-20 overall and 4-17 in league games.

Alex Herrera scored a career high 34 points after making 14-of-18 field goals and 6-of-9 free throws. He recorded his 21
st double-double of the season with 16 points. He also added two blocks and an assist.
Rasmus Bach chipped in 16 points after netting 4-of-9 field goals, 2-of-4 three-point field goals and all six free throw attempts.
Jared Smith accounted for 12 points after making 2-of-3 from long range and all four free throws.
Lucas Archuleta came off the bench to net 10 points and an assist.
Western State was held without a field goal in the final 3:12 of the game but scored their last eight points from the free throw line after making 8-of-14 from the line. WSCU finished the game netting 24-of-32 free throws.
The Skyhawks shot 48.4 percent from the floor (31-of-64) and 75 percent from the charity stripe (18-of-24). FLC dominated points in the paint, out-scoring WSCU 42-18. The Mountaineers tallied 13 points off of the Skyhawks eight turnovers. WSCU only turned the ball over five times which the Skyhawks converted into eight points.
Fort Lewis will play their final regular season game Saturday night at Colorado Mesa University. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
