DURANGO, Colo. – May 6, 2015 – Fort Lewis College Associate Director of Athletics
Lynne Andrew has been selected to enter the 2015 Brantford (Canada) and Area Hall of Honor Roll Builders Category for basketball. The 2015 Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition ceremony will take place June 18 at the Best Western Brant Park Inn.
"It's an honor to be recognized for a passion I've had my whole life," said Andrew. "My athletic career has taken me away from my family and my hometown, so to be recognized by the town I grew up in makes this award even more special."

Gary Hunter. "She has had an impressive athletic career and we are very proud of her for this distinction."
After a successful prep basketball career at North Park High School in Brantford, Ontario, Andrew earned an athletic scholarship to Lake Region Community College in Devils Lake, N.D. While at Lake Region, she earned National Junior College Athletic Association All-America honors. The school, now known as UND-Lake Region, inducted Andrew into its Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991.
In 1986, Andrew continued her collegiate career at Montana State. Proving she could compete at the NCAA Division I level, Andrew was named to the All-Big Sky Conference first team as a junior and senior. She helped lead her team to a 24-6 record in her senior year, which earned them a place in the Women's National Invitational Tournament. She was named to the WNIT All-Tournament Team and was later tabbed as one of the top 40 players in the nation by being named a Kodak District 7 All-American. In 2002, Andrew was inducted into Montana State's Athletic Hall of Fame.
After playing professionally in Wolfenbuttel, Germany, for a season, Andrew returned to Montana State to earn her bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Health and later received her master's degree in Athletic Administration from Idaho State.
Prior to her arrival at Fort Lewis in October 2008, Andrew was the head women's basketball coach at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for five years. Her coaching career stems over 17 seasons with stops at Idaho State, Weber State, North Dakota, and Montana State.
Andrew, who is finishing her seventh year at Fort Lewis College, oversees all areas of NCAA compliance, the athletics department budget, facility scheduling, games management, and is the advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She is also responsible for preparing and submitting various NCAA and Department of Education reports on behalf of Fort Lewis College and has served on numerous athletic and campus committees and searches. She is entering her second year as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Women's Basketball Committee Chair.
Joining Andrew into the Hall of Honor Roll Builders Category for basketball is Pat Woodburn. Being inducted into the 2015 Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition is Mike Beres, Tanya Hunks, Natasha Yaremczuk and the 2002 Canadian Commonwealth Games team.
The Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition is located in the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre is the hub for sporting activities in Brantford and surrounding areas The Sports Hall recognizes hometown heroes, including the Great One, Wayne Gretzky who changed the face of hockey.
