#18 Skyhawks Fall at Colorado Mesa, 75-72

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – January 15, 2016 – Two missed free throw attempts and two turnovers in the final 39 seconds by the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team led to a 75-72 setback at Colorado Mesa University Friday night from Grand Junction.  The Mavericks countered by hitting all six free throw attempts and a basket in the same amount of time to hand No. 18 their third loss of the season.

"This is a tough loss," said head coach Bob Pietrack.  "We simply didn't finish the game.  We will stay together and bounce back."

The Skyhawks led for nearly 25 minutes of the game but were held without a field goal for the final 2:09 minutes.

Senior Kofi Josephs led all players with 21 points after coming off the bench.  He made 7 of 13 field goals and 6 of 12 three-point field goals. Cade Kloster added 15 points and a team high seven rebounds.

Fort Lewis made 26 of 63 field goals (41.3 percent) and 10 of 15 free throws (66.7 percent), 10 fewer attempts than CMU who made 21 of 25 from the charity stripe (84 percent).

The Skyhawks will play their fourth straight road game Saturday night at Westminster College.  Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
