DURANGO, Colo. – January 22, 2016 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team, ranked No. 21 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II poll, held the Western New Mexico University men's basketball team to only 26 first half points Friday night. The Skyhawks, who entered halftime with a 38-26 lead, recorded an 83-67 win to remain undefeated in Whalen Gymnasium this season.
Joshua Blaylock hit on 7 of 10 field goals, 4 of 5 three-point field goals and 3 of 4 free throws for a game high 21 points.
Austin Haldorson added 14 points to go with his seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Cade Kloster notched 13 points and
Will Morse tabulated 12 points. Kloster and Morse each made 3 of 7 three-point field goals. Morse dished out a game high eight assists and grabbed three steals.
The Skyhawks, who shot 43.3 percent from the field, held the Mustangs to a 33.9 field goal shooting percentage mark and 20 percent from long range.
Fort Lewis (14-3, 9-3 RMAC) will play host to the top team in the RMAC, New Mexico Highlands University, Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
