DURANGO, Colo. – January 30, 2016 – Junior guard
Will Morse dished out nine assists to help the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team win their 11
th straight home game Saturday night after defeating Chadron State College, 90-72. With the win, the Skyhawks improve to 17-3 overall and 12-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Skyhawks 17-3 record is their best start since the 2007-08 season when FLC started 17-3 to finish the season 24-6.
FLC was down early by nine points just five minutes into the game, 18-9, but went on an 11-2 run capped off by a dunk by
Rasmus Bach to tie the game at 20-20. Bach came off the bench to finish the game with 19 points after sinking 6-of-9 field goals, both three-point fields and all five free throws.
Junior point guard
Joshua Blaylock led all players with 25 points after making 11-of-17 field goals.
Cade Kloster chipped in 20 points on 5-of-9 field goals and 9-of-12 free throws.
Austin Haldorson added 15 points after making 5-of-8 field goals.
For the sixth time this season, the Skyhawks shot better than 50 percent from the floor. FLC recorded their best field goal shooting mark this season after making 32-of-57 from the floor for 56.1 percent.
After a four game homestand, the Skyhawks will hit the road this weekend at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Black Hills State University Feb. 5-6.
