DURANGO, Colo. – January 30, 2016 – Sophomore guard
Dallas Dickerson came off the bench to record her first career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team to a 78-51 home win over Chadron State College Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium.
The Skyhawks improve to 12-8 overall and 8-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Eagles move to 7-12 overall and 7-8 in league games.
FLC jumped out to a 21-4 lead after the first quarter and held the Eagles to only 35 points with 5:26 left in regulation. FLC's largest lead of the game was 36 points with 8:56 left in the fourth quarter.
Junior guard
Astrea Reed scored a game high 18 points, making all six free throw attempts and 6-of-13 from the floor to go with her game high four assists.
The Skyhawks finished the game making 36.2 percent from the floor (25-of-69) and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe (22-of-28). FLC held an 18-rebound advantage over Chadron State, 55-37, and out-scored the Eagles bench, 41-14.
Fort Lewis will travel to South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Feb. 5 and Black Hills State University Feb. 6.
