Quick HitsThe Fort Lewis College men's team earned two critical home wins to ring in the New Year. Â FLC played host to UCCS (W, 90-84) and MSU Denver (W, 77-63). Â All three teams entered the weekend with a 4-1 conference record.
After the two wins, FLC improves to 11-1 overall and are tied with New Mexico Highlands for a league best 6-1 record. Â
The Skyhawks will travel to Colorado Christian University on Friday and Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. Â FLC defeated both teams at home four weeks ago.
Fort Lewis leads the RMAC in multiple categories, including field goal percentage defense (41.4), free throw percentage (76.1), scoring margin (11.8), three-point field goals per game (10.4), turnover margin (3.2) and win/loss percentage (91.7). Â Junior guard
Joshua Blaylock's three-point shooting percentage (50.0) is the best in the league. Â Blaylock has made 30 of 60 from behind the arc this season.
CCU enters the weekend with a 6-7 overall record and 2-5 RMAC mark.  CCU handed New Mexico Highlands their first  league loss of the season last Friday night.  The Cougars lead the league in scoring offense with 82.4 points per game, and in made three-point field goals with 131.
The Orediggers, who were nationally ranked (No. 15) when the Skyhawks defeated them on Dec. 11, own a 9-4 overall record and a 4-3 RMAC record. Â CSM has gone 3-2 since they fell at FLC four weeks ago. Â The Orediggers have the best assist/turnover ratio in the RMAC (1.30), and the highest three-point field goal percentage (40.3).
