NOTES
The Skyhawks are coming off of two road losses from last weekend, including a 3-0 setback to nationally ranked Colorado School of Mines on Friday.  FLC held a 2-0 lead at Colorado Christian University Saturday afternoon, but the Cougars stormed back to win the match, 3-2.
 
The Skyhawks continue to lead the RMAC in service aces.  FLC is averaging 1.61 aces per set.  Ally Dell'Amico is eighth in the league in service aces with 0.32 aces per set, and fifth in digs with 4.98 digs per set.  Senior setter Delaney Scanlan is averaging the ninth most assists in the RMAC with 8.54.
 
FLC enters the weekend tied for 10 place in the league standings with a 3-5 record (4-12 overall).  The Skyhawks are in the middle of a six match road trip and will be heading to Chadron State College and Regis University this weekend.
 
THE SERIES
Fort Lewis College leads the all-time series with Chadron State College, 22-9.  FLC has won eight of the last nine matches.  FLC's last win against the Eagles was Oct. 12, 2013 at Chadron, 3-0. The Skyhawks lead the series, 6-5, at CSC.
 
Regis University has won 28 of the 36 meetings against FLC, including the last eight matches.  The last time FLC defeated the Rangers was Oct. 2, 2008 at FLC, 3-2.  FLC is 3-13 when facing Regis on their home court.
 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Chadron State College is tied with FLC in the league standings with a 3-5 record.  The Eagles are 4-13 overall and have lost two of their last six matches.  CSC is 1-2 at home this season.
 
The Eagles rank fifth in the RMAC in blocks (1.97 average), eighth in assists (10.78 average) and ninth in kills (11.42 average). 
 
Rudy Leasau leads the offense in kills with 3.54 kills per set, while Madison Webb is sixth in the league in assists (9.80 per set).  The Eagles defense is led by Kenzie Chrisman with 1.02 blocks per set and Emily Bruce in digs (4.85 per set).
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Regis University enters the weekend with a 5-3 RMAC record, tying them for fifth place in the RMAC standings.  The Rangers are 10-7 overall and have won their last five matches.  RU has won six of eight matches at home.
 
The Rangers are third in the league in digs (16.78), fifth in hitting percentage (.207) and fifth in aces (1.34 per set).
 
Drew Rhamy has served up 22 aces in 59 sets and Yagoda Jedrzejczak has 48 blocks at the net.
 
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Matisse Monty was the third Skyhawk to earn preseason All-Tournament team honors.  Monty was named to the MSU All-Tournament team (Sept. 9-10) after recording 2.53 kills per set with a .148 hitting mark, eight aces, 35 digs and four blocks.
 
Maddie LeBlanc and Bailey Longacre were named to the Cal State San Marcos Invitational All-Tournament team (Sept. 2-3).  The duo led the Skyhawks offensively over the weekend.  LeBlanc averaged 2.64 kills per set while hitting .304 at the net.  She added five aces, five digs and 10 blocks.  Longacre finished with 30 kills (2.14 kills per set), a .234 hitting mark, 11 digs and seven blocks.
 
PRESEAON POLL
The 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll has the Fort Lewis College volleyball program picked to finish 13th out of 15 teams. The Skyhawks received 45 points in the preseason poll.  Colorado School of Mines is the preseason favorite with 192 points and 11 first place votes.
 
FLC finished 16th in the league last year with a 2-16 RMAC record (5-21 overall).  The Skyhawks return five starters (Matisse Monty, Gabriella Hickman, Maddie LeBlanc, Hannah Hargrove and Delaney Scanlan), including libero Ally Dell'Amico, and 11 letterwinner's from last year's team.  Dell'Amico and Monty earned RMAC Honorable Mention honors last year.
 
SEASONED COACH
Kelley Rifilato is in her fourth season with the Skyhawks in 2016 after being named the Fort Lewis College head volleyball coach in June 2013.  In three years at the helm of the volleyball program, Rifilato owns a 23-57 (.288) overall record, and a 17-38 (.309) conference mark.  She has coach five All-RMAC and 13 Academic All-RMAC performers while taking the 2013 team to the RMAC tournament.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
FLC will travel to Adams State University on Tuesday, Oct. 18, and then to Westminster College on Oct. 22.
