Quick HitsThe Fort Lewis College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to seven games after posting two wins on the road this past weekend at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (84-73 OT) and Black Hills State University (80-73).
The Skyhawks' 19-3 record is their best start in school history. Â FLC's 11-0 home record is the fourth time they started their season 11-0 (2004-05, 1985-86, 1977-78).
The Skyhawks are ranked No. 10 in this week's NABC Division II poll, their highest ranking of the season. The highest ranking in program history is No. 5 (2004-05).
Junior guard
Joshua Blaylock was voted this week's RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 29.5 points and shooting 53.1 percent from the floor.
Blaylock recorded a career high 37 points in the overtime win at South Dakota Mines. Â
Rasmus Bach pulled down a career high 10 rebounds each night to record his first and second career double-doubles. Â Bach averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds in the road sweep.
FLC will play host to Western State Colorado University on Friday, and Colorado State University on Saturday. Â
The Mountaineers enter the weekend 4-19 overall and 3-14 in the RMAC. Â
The ThunderWolves are tied for fourth place in the Mountain Division and tied for seventh overall with a 10-7 record (14-9 overall). Â CSUP's Nelson Kahler leads the league in blocked shots per game (2.22), while Chris Golden leads the league in three-pointers made per game (3.38).
