DURANGO, Colo. – February 13, 2016 – Colorado State University-Pueblo entered Whalen Gymnasium Saturday night with a 16-3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record and a 21-4 overall record. The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team came close to handing the Pack their fourth league loss of the season, but fell short, 64-54.
The Skyhawks came to within one point of the ThunderWolves in the fourth quarter to gain the lead, 50-49, with 3:44 left in regulation. Colorado State-Pueblo closed the game on a 14-5 run.
Junior guard
Astrea Reed tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Alyssa Yocky came off the bench to record 10 points and nine rebounds.
FLC was held to a 31.9 field goal shooting percentage (22-of-69) and 5-of-23 from three-point range (21.7 percent).
Fort Lewis will travel to New Mexico Highlands University Feb. 19 and Western New Mexico University on Feb. 20. After this weekend, the Skyhawks are in eighth place in the RMAC standings with a 10-9 league mark (14-10 overall).
