LAS VEGAS, N.M. – February 19, 2016 – Senior guard
Kate Bayes scored a game high 22 points to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team to a 70-53 road win at New Mexico Highlands University Friday night.
Leading by two points at halftime, the Skyhawks used a 25-4 fourth quarter run to close out the game.
Bayes netted 10-of-17 field goals as part of her 22 points. She added four rebounds and an assist.
Ande Lampert scored nine of her 13 points in the first half and finished the game making 5-of-7 from the floor.
Alyssa Yocky came off the bench to pull down a team high seven rebounds and chipped in eight points.
The Skyhawks finished the game making 30-of-63 field goals (47.6 percent) but stumbled at the free throw line, hitting 8-of-18 for 44.4 percent.
FLC out-scored the Cowgirls in the paint, 30-22, and off of turnovers, 19-5.
The Skyhawks improve to 15-10 overall and 11-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. FLC will play their final road game of the regular season Saturday night at Western New Mexico University. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
