AZTEC, N.M. – February 22, 2016 – For the third straight day the Fort Lewis College softball team hosted a doubleheader at Aztec Sports Complex in Aztec, N.M. The Skyhawks hosted No. 2 Dixie State University on Monday in non-conference action. The Red Storm took both games from the Skyhawks, 12-0 (five innings), and 5-1.
In Monday's opening game, the Red Storm scored 12 runs on 10 hits. Four of DSU's hits were extra base hits, including two home runs.
After going without a hit in game one, the Skyhawks tallied three hits and scored one run in game two.
Missy Fundora went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored from
Tehenia Telliano's single in the first inning.
Olivia Goldberg pitched the complete game and allowed four earned runs on eight hits and two strikeouts.
The Skyhawks (3-14, 0-4 RMAC) will travel to University of Colorado Colorado Springs Feb. 27-28 for four games against the Mountain Lions.
