The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to 11 games after posting two wins on the road at New Mexico Highlands University (88-61) and Western New Mexico University (W, 99-85).
In the process, the Skyhawks clinched the No. 1 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament and won the RMAC Regular Season Championship for the fifth time in school history (2016, 2008, 2004, 1989, and 1987).
For the fifth straight week, the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team moved up the NABC Division II poll. The Skyhawks are ranked No. 8 in this week's poll.
The Skyhawks will play host to Adams State University on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
FLC enters the weekend 23-3 overall and 18-3 in the conference. The Skyhawks are undefeated at home this season at 13-0 and are riding an 11-game winning streak. The longest winning streak in school history is 13 games (2007-08).
The Skyhawks 23 wins are the most wins ever recorded in a regular season. FLC needs one more win to tie their all-time win record of 24, set three times in 2007-08, 2008-09, and 2010-11.
Head coach Bob Pietrack was named the HoopDirt.com Week 14 Coach of the Week for Division II. Pietrack is now eligible for the HoopDirt.com Coach of the Year award.
Prior to Friday's game, the Skyhawks will recognize their six seniors: Kofi Josephs, Ryan Brooks, Cade Kloster, Austin Haldorson, Jared Smith, and Kody Salcido.
