PUEBLO, Colo. – March 4, 2016 – Eighth seed Fort Lewis College advanced to the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship game after defeating fifth seed UCCS Friday night, 79-70, at Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colo.  The Skyhawks week started with an upset win on Tuesday at Colorado School of Mines. 
Astrea Reed led the Skyhawks with a career best 26 points. Reed, who led all scorers, made 9-of-16 field goals and 6-of-7 from the free throw line.  She was one rebound shy of a double-double.  Reed also chipped in four assists and three steals.  
Kylie Santos, the 2016 RMAC Women's Basketball Summit Award winner, scored 12 points on 5-of-10 fields.  
Alyssa Yocky recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.  She was a perfect 6-ofr-6 from the free throw line. 
FLC outscored UCCS in the paint (30-28), and off of turnovers (19-14).  
The Skyhawks shot 48.2 percent from the floor (27-of-56) and 90.5 percent from the free throw line (19-of-21). 
Fort Lewis led the game for nearly 28 minutes.  They grabbed their largest lead of the night with 1:30 remaining in the third quarter (17-point lead). 
The Skyhawks will face second seed and host school Colorado State University-Pueblo tomorrow night at 7 p.m.  Saturday's game will mark the fifth time FLC has played in the RMAC Championship game.  The Skyhawks are 2-2 in RMAC tournament championship games.
