DURANGO, Colo. – January 20, 2017 – Trailing by as many as 14 points in the first half, the 21
st ranked Fort Lewis College men's basketball team unleashed for 57 points in the second half to earn their 27
th straight home win Friday night over Regis University, 89-81.
FLC improves to 16-3 overall and 11-2 in league games while the Rangers drop to 12-5 (6-5 RMAC). Tonight's win avenges a loss suffered by the Skyhawks at Regis on Dec. 31, 78-76.
Fort Lewis started the second half trailing by five, 37-32, but went on a 12-7 run to tie the game at 44-44.
Rasmus Bach accounted for seven of the Skyhawks 12 points after making two field goals and two free throws.
The Skyhawks last trailed the Rangers with 11:16 left in regulation before
Alex Semadeni hit a layup to tie the game, 53-53.
Joshua Blaylock scored 17 of his game high 27 points in the second half. He made 7-of-11 field goals, 3-of-5 three-point field goals and all 10 free throw attempts.
Bach finished with 18 points and six rebounds, while Semadeni and
Daniel Hernandez came off the bench to score 14 points each.
The league leader in assists,
Will Morse, dished out a game high nine dimes tonight.
The Skyhawks finished the game hitting 29-of-53 field goals for 54.7 percent and 26-of-37 free throws for 70.3 percent.
FLC will play host to Chadron State College Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
