Women’s Basketball Plays Host to Rangers, Eagles

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team will continue their four game home stand this Friday and Saturday against Regis University and Chadron State College.  Both games will start at 5:30 p.m. at Whalen Gymnasium.
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks enter the weekend with the fifth best league record.  FLC is 8-4 in RMAC games and 13-4 overall.
 
Fort Lewis is coming off a home split against Black Hills State University (L, 53-52) and South Dakota School of Mines (W, 76-70).
 
Alyssa Yocky and Shelby Patterson recorded career scoring highs Saturday night over the Hardrockers
 
Yocky scored 17 of her game high 25 points in the first half.  She netted 11-of-15 field goals and pulled down eight rebounds.  Patterson hit 6-of-12 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws for 19 points.
 
Briana Clah ranks fourth among all RMAC players in scoring. Clah is averaging 14.8 points per game.  Her 88.3 shooting percentage from the charity stripe is the second best in the league (83-of-94).  She has also netted 30 three-point field goals, the eighth most amongst any RMAC player.
 
Ande Lampert has blocked 26 shots in 17 games, the second most blocked shots of any RMAC player.
 
Yocky has grabbed the second most rebounds in the league.  She is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game. 
 
Fort Lewis owns the best mark in the conference in blocked shots (4.5), defensive rebounds (31. per game), field goal defense (32.6 percent), and three-point field goal percentage (24.6 percent).
 
The Skyhawks have the fourth best scoring margin in the league (8.9 points), scoring 66.1 points per game and allowing 57.1 points.  The 57.1 points allowed are the third fewest in the league.
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Regis University boasts a 13-2 overall record and the third best league record at 8-2.  Friday's game will be the second meeting between the two teams the season.  FLC won the first meeting on New Year's Eve, 58-49, handing RU only their second loss this season.
 
The Rangers are 3-0 since falling to the Skyhawks and are 6-1 in road games.
 
Regis is averaging 65.1 points per game and surrendering 55.9 points.  Mary Sigler is scoring an average of 13.2 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Chadron State is 11th in the league standings with a 4-7 record, tying them with Westminster College.  The Eagles are 4-10 overall and 2-6 in road games.
 
Both teams faced each other three weeks ago on Dec. 30, with the Skyhawks posting a 76-69 win.  CSC has gone 1-2 since that game and have lost their last three road games.
 
Kalli Feddersen leads the Eagles in scoring (13.1 points per game) and rebounding (6.6 rebounds per game).  CSC is scoring 60.9 points per game and allowing the second most points per game in the league (72.2).

Fort Lewis College will play one next weekend when they travel to Colorado Christian on Jan. 28 for a 1 p.m. game.
