No. 16 Skyhawks Down Cougars, 93-85 Behind Farris' Career High

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – January 28, 2017 – Redshirt freshman Riley Farris scored a career high 24 points Saturday afternoon to help the 16th-ranked Fort Lewis College men's basketball team to a 93-85 win at Colorado Christian University.

Saturday's win is the Skyhawks sixth straight victory as they improve to 18-3 overall and 13-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

FLC trailed by as many as seven points in the first half and were down 43-38 at halftime.

Farris hit a layup at the 10:41 mark to break a 58-58 tie and give the Skyhawks the lead they would retain the rest of the game.  The layup also sparked a 12-3 run by FLC, capped off by a jumper from Daniel Hernandez to give FLC their largest lead of the game, 72-63.

Farris was near perfect from the floor, making 9-of-11 field goals, including 1-for-1 from three-point range.  He added five free throws, four rebounds, two assists and blocked one shot in 16 minutes of action.

Rasmus Bach notched a team high 19 points and dished out a team high six assists.  Joshua Blaylock and Will Morse each finished with 10 points.

Hernandez came off the bench to score 15 points.  Hernandez made 5-of-9 field goals and 4-of-7 three-point field goals.

FLC shot an impressive 55.9 percent from floor after making 33-of-59 field goals.  The 55.9 field goal percentage is the 13th time this season the Skyhawks have shot 50 percent or better from the floor.

Fort Lewis will continue their road swing next Friday at New Mexico Highlands University, and Saturday at Colorado State-Pueblo.
